Can You Say Cold

For those of you who have ever heard me complain about the cold, I take it back!!! It's got nothing on this weather here in Columbia, Missouri. Yesterday in the middle of the day it was 9 degrees and the wind chill was -10. Holy crap, it was cold!!!! We are still crossing our fingers for a white Christmas!!

Happy Birthday Isabelle

About a month ago we were talking about birthdays and we told Isabelle her birthday was next. Without missing a beat she said,"My Doe-wa birday." She LOVES Dora(except the actual show...she won't sit long enough to enjoy). It doesn't matter if its clothes, a doll, toy, if it has Dora, she's excited about it. I can't believe she is 2! She is growing up way too fast. She is talking up a storm. She amazes me with some of the things she comes up with. She keeps us on her toes because she is always up to something. She is such a joy!!!

Round 2...

I got a call from Isabelle's daycare yesterday and they said,"Isabelle bumped her head." My first reaction was...imagine that!! She's so into everything its not out of the ordinary for her to get bumps and bruises. But then the dreaded words came,"She's going to need stitches." I thought, you have got to be kidding me. Sure enough, she got 3 stitches.
Still all smiles...ouch!!! I told Isabelle to show me 2 on her fingers. She says,"I tan't...show me mommy."
This was this morning...poor thing could barely open her eye.

Well...

Saturday night Easton was talking my ear off. I had fallen asleep and was very tired so I guess I wasn't answering his questions to his satisfaction. So he kept asking the same question over and over. Finally I said,"Easton, stop saying the same thing over and over." His response..."Well mom, stop ignoring me."

Dora Bike

Isabelle is scared to death of Santa but is not afraid to tell him what she wants. This weekend everytime she saw him, whether it was on tv, in a picture, or she even caught him getting on the elevator at the Bass Pro Shop, she would say,"My dora bike Santa, bring my dora bike." It was pretty funny!!!

Little Climber

I knew it was only a matter of time since Isabelle climbs on EVERYTHING and has since she could. Well the other night she woke up in the middle of the night. She kept crying for me so finally Scott told her he was going to put her in her crib. After a few minutes she's still crying so he sticks her in there and shuts the door. I decided to go out there and see what the deal was and right as I walked out her door opened and here she comes. We just looked at eachother like what in the world. So the next day I told Isabelle to show me how she got out. She got this little grin and told me no. I put her in the crib and told her again. This time she puts her foot up on the side of the crib, pauses(like should I really show her) then leaps over it. You should have seen the look on her face...she was so proud of herself. So I guess its time to turn the crib into a toddler bed and train her to stay in it.
This reminds me of another story. Last week Scott was out of town. Well, Easton still sleeps in our bed(I know, terrible!!!) and at this point Isabelle was in hers. I would get her to sleep with me than go lay her in her bed. Well one night she woke up when I layed her down but I decided to let her cry because she will usually go right back to sleep. So I go back in my room where Easton is still awake. He says,"mommy, Isabelle's crying." I said, "I know, its ok...she will go to sleep." There was a long pause then he goes,"But mommy, its really dark in there." I said,"Yeah but she tough. She will be ok." Another pause...then he goes,"mommy, I won't let the monsters get her. It will be ok!" Easy for him to say laying up in my bed but so sweet!!!

PJ's

This picture was taken last night after bathtime. I had put on Isabelle's pajamas on but she managed to find this Dora shirt. It was going to be too cold so I just put it over her other shirt. So then she comes up to me wearing Easton's Diego shoes and carrying her Dora bag. She said,"Look mommy, I do it all myself!!!" She was talking about the shoes and she was so proud.

You the Best

Yesterday afternoon we pulled into the garage after school. I got Isabelle out of her car seat then went around to get Easton. I opened the door and he says,"Mommy, I thought I saw a big, big, big master(monster) but it was just my big, big, big mommy. You the best mommy!" He is too much...

Mr. Compromise

Easton has started this thing where pretty much every time I say something he starts his response with, "Well..." I'll say, "Easton, It's time to go bye-bye." He'll say,"Well,we have to finish watching this show." It's hilarious but it also drives me crazy!!!

Thanksgiving '08

We had a very nice Thanksgiving! Taina, Bryndyn, Caelleb, Tia and Kobe got to come in. It was the first time meeting Kobe...what a sweet heart!!! Thanksgiving day we went to Scott's moms house and enjoyed a pretty relaxing day. The weather was great so the kids got to be outside all day.
Friday, Taina and I got to go shopping a little. That night we took the kids to see Santa and the guys took the 4 older kids the see Madagascar 2. The rest of the weekend we got to hear,"I like to move it move it," a bunch!!!
All the kids were very thrilled about meeting Santa...except Isabelle, imagine that!!!

Easton told Santa he wanted a big, big, big, big 4-wheeler, Braden told him power rangers and Isabelle(from a distance) told him she wanted Dora.

Saturday morning we took the kids to Excalibur. It rained on friday and they were in the house all day so it was definitely a much needed trip. Saturday night we let the kids make their own pizza's. I didn't really know what to expect...I knew Caelleb and Braden would be ok but I figured Tia, Easton and Isabelle would have stuff everywhere. They did so good...all of them. It was definitely a big hit!!!

Look at the concentration on Easton's face!!

This is them eating the pizza. I told them to give a thumbs up if its good! =)

The week was great up until that point...about an hour later we off to the emergency room and then 3 am Isabelle was up puking!!! Fun times!!!

Emergency Room

I told Easton Saturday night as we were driving to the emergency room that he was gonna be one of "those kids." Last year it was having his tooth knocked out(or in) and this year it was a trip to the ER with a gash to the forehead. I sat there and watched the whole thing happen...why I didn't stop it??? Good question...it was all over a toy gun. Easton was chasing Caelleb and before I knew it he went straight into the corner of the kitchen table. I knew when I saw him hit it it was not gonna be good and sure enough there was a nice little gash to his head. I would like to say I didn't freak out but I guess I did in way. All I could keep saying was, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh." We got in the car right away and took him to the hospital. When we were half way there I realized he had no shoes and no jacket, just a short sleeve shirt. Luckily it did not bleed very much so the ride to the hospital wasn't too bad. Once we were in the car and he was settled down, the questions began... "Where we going?" "Am I gonna have to get a shot?" "Why I going to the hospital?" I answered the questions as honestly as I could because I wanted him to be prepared. I told him he was going to have to get stitches and he thought that sounded cool. He kept saying, "I'm gonna get stitches!" Once we got there he got into delirious mode. Everyone that walked by he would say,"Is that the doctor?" Then we got called back, he was such a big boy. First the lady took his temperature and blood pressure. She asked him his name and he told her "Easton." When she asked him his last name he said,"ascott."And of course he had to ask her everything she was doing. So then we went in the room and the nurse came in. He told him he was gonna clean his cut and cover it til the doctor came. Here's some of their conversation:
Easton: Why you have a fish on there(referring to the name tag on mans shirt)?
Nurse: I thought that fish looked better than me. Do you like to fish?
Easton(with big smile): Yeah...
Nurse: You do? Where do you fish?
Easton(without missing a beat): At the pond...
We informed the nurse he had never been fishing, it was pretty cute though. He never really cried in that room. He was so tough and acted like such a big boy. They had to strap him down when they did the stitches and he never cried. We told him on the way they would have suckers for him. As soon as they were done and he got off the table he said, "where's my sucker?" On the way home we were telling him how proud of him we were and that he was such a big boy. Scott told him he was tough and he said, "No, I not tough cuz I not a bad guy." Probably the funniest part of the whole night was when we pulled into the drive way, Easton said,"Mom, you think Caelleb's done with the toy now?" When we got in the house, all the kids were asking him questions and you could tell he was so proud. It was so cute how concerned the other kids were. Taina said they all said a prayer for him while we were gone. The next morning Tia came in our room and stood next to the bed. She said, "Is Easton feeling alright?" Easton said, "I not feeling good, my head hurts!" I imagine so!!!!! I was an interesting night...one I hope we don't ever have to repeat.
Easton showing off his bracelet...he was sooooo hyper when we got home!!! Way beyond delirious, he was cracking us up!!
