Growing Up

The other day Easton was doing a puzzle. He said,"Look mom, I'm doing it all by myself!" I said, "Wow, that's great!! I'm so proud of you." Then to my mom, thinking he wasn't paying attention, I said,"I've never seen him do one of those by himself." Then Easton says,"I'm growing up mom." Too cute!!!

Thumb Sucker

Emarie started sucking her thumb about 3 weeks ago. It's pretty cute!!! Probably won't be in about 4 years but right now, I have to give the thumb credit for her sleeping 10-12 hours at night!!!

Curry's Christmas Tree Farm

Even though we did notget our tree here the kids had a great time.

Journey to Bethlehem

Every year, one of the local churches sets up a "Journey to Bethlehem." The kids weren't quite sure what to think but seemed to enjoy it.
Making bread Signing the "census"
Man trying to sell fish The kids favorite...Baby Jesus!!!

A Visit With Santa

Last week Santa came to visit at AWANA. On the way there I told the kids Santa was gonna be there. Easton said,"Santa can't be at church, cuz Santa lives at the mall." We thought that was funny, apparently Santa no longer lives at North Pole but at the mall. =)
Love this pic!! Thank you Hawkins for the precious outfits!!
Easton with his bestfriend/cousin Jacob. :) This is MAJOR progress considering the last time she saw him she didn't want to get close.
Emarie has taken up thumbsucking!!! So cute...because of it she's also sleeping 10-12 hours at night...in her own bed!!!!!!!
So sweet!!!

Naughty List

Isabelle is VERY aware of the "naughty list." She hears it very frequently. Well the other day we were driving in the car. She has a very bad habit of taking off her shoes and socks EVERY time she gets in the car. We fuss at her all the time about doing it. So, we are driving and I had just told her not to take them off. Sure enough she did. When I noticed, I said,"Isabelle, did you take your shoes off even though mommy just told you not to?" With a very guilty look she nods yes. Before I could say a word, Easton, in a tone like here we go again says, "Naughty List." Scott and I couldn't help but laugh. The funny thing is he was dead serious. Even after we laughed, he never cracked a smile.

A Little Update

I went back to February of 2007 to read on here what Isabelle was doing at 2 1/2 months and there was nothing about it...just a bunch of pics. While the pics are great I want to remember more about what they are doing. Emarie is 10 1/2 weeks and talking up a storm. It's the cutest thing. Who would have thought a bunch of ohhhh and awwww and hmmmm's could be so darn cute. Last night I took her into Easton's room to tuck him in and she had been talking to me like crazy. I told her, "Tell Easton good night." And she busted out with big, "oooooo." Easton thought that was the funniest thing. She is so sweet though and just the happiest, most content baby!! This week has probably one of the hardest since being a mom. It's like everything happened at once. Emarie got sick Sunday, I had to go back to work Monday and on top of that Scott was out of town from Monday morning til Thursday night. It was pretty rough!!! I survived though and am now looking forward to my shopping trip to Canton!! The kids are so excited for Christmas. I'm loving it too because Isabelle and Easton understand the "naughty list." Their behaviors have been much better since we visited Santa. When we saw Santa he said he was gonna be watching for who is naughty and who is nice. Someone told him Isabelle had been naughty and her eyes filled with tears and she said,"I haven't been a naughty girl." It was pretty sad. But since then I know just how to get her to behave. =)

Can I Please Get a Smile...

Emarie has been smiling for a week now and I've been trying to get a picture of it. So far this is all I've gotten...

I guess she's a little camera shy! =)

Fun at the Park

When it rains 20 inches in a month you don't get out much. We took advantage of the beautiful weather on friday.
This picture is a little blurry but I love how they are holding hands.
Wish they always got along this well!!

I know You Still Love Me

My conversation with Easton the other day...
Easton: Mommy, I love you!
Me: I love you too.
Easton: Do you love Braden?
Me: Yes
Easton: Do you love daddy?
Me: Yes
Easton: Well what about when you are mad at daddy? You still love him?
Me: Yes, just like I still love you when I get mad at you.
Easton: But you spank me...
Me: But I still love you.
Easton: But you put me in time out...
Me: And I still love you.
Easton: Oh...
Since then when he gets in trouble he says,"Mommy, I know you still love me.

Little Miss Smiley

There was no mistaking Emarie's first smile yesterday!! She had on some little moccasin boots and I was telling her how cute they are and she definitely liked what I was saying. Since then she has smiled a few more times when she's talked to. If she's not smiling she gets excited and waves her hands and kicks her feet!! So far she is still a great baby. Last night she took her last bottle at 9,went to sleep and slept til 4:40. She took another bottle and back to sleep. Let's hope that doesn't change!!

Terrible Twos?

This conversation is not something to brag about but some day we will look back and laugh. I don't know if it's terrible two's or a sign that we've got our hands full for a long time to come...probably both!
The other night Isabelle was helping me cook. She was up on the counter...
Me: Isabelle don't touch those. (She touches them) You touch them again I will put you down.
Isabelle: Well I can just climb back up there mommy.
Me: Then I will have to spank you.
Isabelle: Well it doesn't hurt and I can spank you.
Me: How about I put soap in your mouth for talking back?
Isabelle: I will just spit it out.
I normally wouldn't go back and forth with her but I wanted to see how far she would go.

My Little Pumpkin

Poor baby needs to grow some hair...she looks like a little boy!!! So cute though!!! Even when she's covered in pink people still think she's a boy.

Look Who's 1 Month

I can't believe Emarie is already 1 month old!!! It's gone by way too fast. We go to the dr on Monday for a checkup so I will have to update her size then. She is such a sweet baby!! Getting a little spoiled but that's ok. She sleeps great. This week she started sleeping 6-8 hours at a time. If I could get her to take her last bottle at 10 instead of 7 we will be doing real good. We had our own little photo shoot to capture the 1 month memories, I had a blast!! =)

So serious!!! I think that might be a smile...
Easton came home from school that afternoon and he was all about his baby sister. Here is him playing peek-a-boo!! I tried to explain she probably can't see that far but it didn't matter to him.
He held her for a good 45 minutes or so. I was hanging clothes, getting ready for a garage sale. Easton told me,"You know why I'm holding the baby? I don't think you can hang those clothes and hold her, so I will just hold her for you." At one point she started fussing and he told me,"Mommy, usually when she cries that means you have to hold her but I think I can get her to stop crying this time." And he did...
When she started fussing he said,"She just wants her pussycat." He meant pacifier...Isabelle got a big kick out of that.
She fell sound asleep with a tight grip of his shirt...too cute!!!
This was the best I could do of the 3 of them. Easton pretending to sleep with her So sweet!!!
