Halloween Party

The weekend before Halloween we went to a Halloween Party. It was interesting to say the least, we will just leave it at that. Here are a few pictures:
Bridgette(Scott's sister), David(her husband) and Brandon(Scott's brother). What a devoted Catholic family!!! =)
Scott and Brandon
Carly, Sammy & Ashley a.k.a. Trick OR Treat--The main purpose of me going to this party was to introduce Brandon to Carly. We have talked about it since last Feb and it finally happened. They actually hit it off well and have been talking ever since. We'll see how that goes!!!
I went as a"has-been" and Scott was my #1 fan. Cheezy, I know, but we just aren't all that creative. I tried to convince him to go as a "never-was" but he didn't think that was very funny.

Picture Perfect

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch tonight. Easton was his normal self, a pain in the butt!!! He wanted nothing to do with anything or anybody. Isabelle on the other hand got her nap on the way over and was ready to smile for the camera. I don't have many pictures of her recently so I was pretty excited.
This is my favorite Cousin Olivia & Isabelle
Cousins-Olivia, Jacob and Easton
This was the best we could do with Easton. Notice his short hair, no more curls. =( Daddy took him for a hair cut today and they cut it all off. He looks like such a big boy.
Olivia & Jacob
Isabelle turned 10 monthsold today. I was just looking back on my blog to when she turned 5 months old. The title was,"Where have the 5 months gone," and now we are already at 10. It is so scary how fast the time goes. Her little personality is really coming out these days. There are things she does that are so much like Easton it is scary. She is so funny though. She is little miss attitude. She's got a temper and she lets you hear it when she doesn't get her way. She has learned how to point her index finger and she sticks it out and goes to babbling like she really has something to say. She has also just started clapping. I actually saw her for the first time today but Scott swears it wasn't the first time. She will copy a lot of things we do. Not only is she pulling up on everything, now she moves across the furniture and when you hold her hands she will walk.

Happy 7th Birthday Braden

We had a small party for Braden at our house last weekend. He was cute and loved all his gifts. Scott and i got him Heely's(shoes with the wheels in the heel) and he thought he was so cool. Isabelle got in on the cake action too, she definitely didn't hold back.

Papa Simpson's Farm

We took the kids to Papa Simpson's Farm last Saturday. We went 2 years ago and despite the freezing weather and the horses being too tired to ride we decided to go again. We had a great time!!! Easton is very into animals these days so he was very excited over seeing the pigs, chickens, horses, cows and goats. Easton wore his cowboy outfit(and of course was the cutest), Braden wore his Karate outfit that came from Aunt Taina and Isabelle wore her cute little Halloween outfit.
Cowboy Easton in his wranglers.

The first thing we did was go on a hayride. They crammed us into this HUGE covered trailer and we were pulled by a tractor out into the middle of the woods. When we got there, we got out and they read us a halloween story and we roasted marshmallows. This is me, Easton and Braden on the ride.
Isabelle in her cute little outfit.
Easton riding the pony. The man took him around and you could tell he was just so proud. He doesn't show much expression but he was so excited.

After the pony ride we rode the big horse, but I wasn't about to let him go by himself. The whole time we were riding he was saying,"Yee-haw."They had pigs, cows, chickens and goats you could pet. They were loving it until the cows started mooing and freaked them both out.

Scott and Braden

The whole family!!I definitely think Papa Simpson's Farm will become a family tradition. We all had a good time and the weather was great, which is rare!!

Fun at the Fair

Sept 21
I have to say, I absolutely hate the fair. I swear every year I will not go then we end up going anyways. If you go fairly early on a fri night it's not too bad because everybody is at a football game. Me and Easton at the bottom of the big slide.
Easton and Jacob riding the motorcycles.

Olivia on the bumber boats.
I had a picture of Isabelle and Scott but for some reason it did not show up. But she waved for the first time this evening and I actually got it on video.

An October Thursday I Will Not Forget

We'll start on a positive note because the day did start off good. I was leaving for work yesterday morning and the kids were all awake. So as I am telling them good-bye I look at Isabelle and say, "Can you blow mommy a kiss?" I did the hand motion expecting nothing in return but sure enough she opened her mouth and put her hand over her mouth. Scott and I both just started laughing, it was so cute. So on to the exciting part of the day. I'll have to back up a little and explain the situation. Brandon(Scott's brother) and Scott had the idea to run the concession stand for the YMCA Football League. Every Saturday they are out there all day long earning a little extra money. They had games last night but Scott had practice so he asked me to help Brandon for about an hour. I had Easton and Isabelle in there with me which was a huge mistake from the beginning and I should have known better but I thought it would be ok for an hour. It was ok for about 30 min til Easton was getting restless and Isabelle just wanted to be held. So I'm holding her and helping a customer when I hear Easton fall. He started crying but he didnt fall hard so I didnt think too much of it. When he kept crying I looked down and saw he had blood GUSHING out of his mouth. I freaked out!!! I put Isabelle down and took him over to the sink and started washing out his mouth. Brandon called Scott and when he got there he assured me he was going to be ok. He had seen this before with Blane and he said either the tooth came out and will not come back until his adult teeth come in or it got pushed up in his gums and will come back out. Since Braden had practice, Rebecca(Scott's ex-wife) was there and she is a dental hygienist. So to put my mind at ease I took Easton out to her so she could look at it. She told me basically the same thing Scott had but offered to go up to her work with me and take an x-ray so I would know if the tooth was still there. SO, off to the dentist we started to go. But then I realized, I can't leave Isabelle in the Concession stand with Scott. I already made the mistake once. So I called Scott's mom and they came to get her. We get to the dentist office and I keep telling Easton that we are going to take a picture of his teeth which he was fine with until I tried to stick the little thing in his mouth and he totally freaked!! So after pinning him down 4 times we finally got the picture that showed us...the tooth was still there, which I guess is a good thing. He won't be toothless for the next 5 years. Rebecca said it would probably take about month to come back out. Okay, try not to laugh too hard...

He is still the most beautiful boy in the world. So we get home about 7:30, Scott's parents were there because they had dropped off Isabelle. I was getting ready to give them a bath so Mimi got Isabelle undress(because I couldn't put Easton down). I had one child on each hip when I felt something warm. Isabelle had peed all over me. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Needless to say we all went and took a bath.

Reflecting back on the whole evening I couldn't help but laugh. First of all, being in the dentist office with Rebecca(need I say more), Easton(who is just mad at the world), Braden(who doesn't stop talking) and Aubrey(who doesn't stop crying). Nothing like having a little bonding moment with your husbands ex-wife. Braden had a pretty funny outlook on the whole thing but what do you expect from a 6 year old. When he saw Easton right after it happened here's the conversation:

Braden: "Whoa, what happened to Easton's tooth?"

Me: "He fell down and knocked it out."

Braden: "Cool!! He's gonna get money grom the tooth fairy now."

Me: "You think so?"

Braden: "Yeah, all he has to do is put it under his pillow."

Another story I have to share is about Isabelle. When I picked her up from daycare the other day they told me she had learned a little something from a couple of the older kids in her room. Apparently they think it is funny to go around and "steal" the other babies blankets while they are sleeping. I guess Isabelle figures if they are going to do it to her she could do it to others. So she would crawl to a crib pull herself up, stick her arm through the bars and take the blankets. The lady in her class said one time she saw her doing it and said, "Isabelle," in that tone where she knew she was doing something wrong. They said she started laughing so hard she couldn't even stand up anymore. They said she also has no problem taking up for herself in there. They said nobody steals her toys. We'll thank Easton for that!!!

National Hunting and Fishing Day

September 22 was National Hunting and Fishing Day. Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries put on a little event for kids, it was pretty neat. They had pony rides, rock climbing wall, fishing, you could shoot guns, jumpers and animals. Some of it was a little too old for Easton but he enjoyed it. Here are a few pictures:
Easton riding the pony.
Petting the alligator, he had no fear!!!

Trying to fish but actually getting all tangled up.
Scott acting like he knows what he's doing. =)
Easton touched this alligator too and talked about it for days afterwards.

Making Daddy Proud

Isabelle has a vocabulary bank of 4 words: da-da, na-na(momma), nu-nu(no), and ty-da(tiger). Saturday night we were watching the LSU game. I was telling Easton to say, "Tigers, Tigers, Tigers." Well Isabelle wanted to chime in too because next thing I no she's going, "Ty-da." I couldn't believe it!!! So I kept getting her to say it and I guess because I was making such a big deal about it, she knew she was being cute, so she had a big grin on her face everytime she would say it. She's already sucking up to her daddy. For months, all she would say was, "da-da," and now this. =)
