Ag Expo

A couple weeks ago we took the kids to the Ag Expo. I would go into more detail about what it is but I really don't know. I think its basically an opportunity for people to market their business, in the agriculture industry. There were booths set up everywhere with free food, petting animals, kids got to plant some things, there were tractors and thats basically it. One of the perks to Scott's job is that we get free tickets to pretty much any kind of entertainment in Monroe(Mardi Gras Ball, bull riding, concerts, zoo, sporting events). Some of these things we would not do if we had to pay but since we don't we usually go check it out. Most of the time it ends up being pretty fun, especially for the kids.
The kids really enjoyed the animals. There were chicks, goats, cows, horses, ducks.
Cousin Olivia
Isabelle couldn't be left out of climbing up on the big combine(I think that's what it is called). I actually knew what this big thing does(thanks to Jenny), it picks the cotton. I was a little off on the price. I guessed $100,000 but it was more like $500,000.

Super Bull

It's become a family tradition to go to the Super Bull every year. It's actually a lot of fun and the kids enjoy it. This year I actually knew someone in it.
This first picture is Braden(kid in red jacket, black pants)chasing a calf. I asked Easton if he wanted to go and it was a definite NO!! But after Braden got back, all I heard the rest of the night was,"Momma, I go chase the cow."

Asking For A Little Favor

Braden did not get to come with us to CA for Christmas this year so my mom had shipped him his present. It kinda took awhile to get it together because first Scott was gone, then last week we were out a lot, then Braden got sick over the weekend. We promised him last night at dinner we would put the wrestling ring together as soon as we got home. So after about an hour of Scott so patiently sitting on the living room floor putting it together it was done. Braden loved it(pics to come later...i hate not having a digital camera). I told him we needed to call Grandma Nita to tell her thank you. I went to get my camera and the phone and when I got back Braden had his hands folded and was bowing his head. It was very obvious what he was doing and since I was prepared to take a pic I went ahead and got one of him praying. When he heard me take the picture he looked up and said, "I'm praying to God and asking him to tell Grandma Nita thank you."

Clownin' Around

Me and the kids had a little bonding time last night. It's not very often that I take the 2 little ones out in public by myself. Let me rephrase that, I never take them out by myself. Well last night Scott had to be somewhere for work so he went to pick up the kids and we all met at Johnny's Pizza. Scott had to leave before we were done so it was just me, Easton and Isabelle. We must have stayed there another 30 minutes just hangin out. Isabelle was sitting in the high chair and for some reason licked the table. Of course I said, "Isabelle, no, no!! That's nasty." And of course, she did it again. It got to be kinda funny because I would put my hand down so she couldn't do it and she would start laughing. It was so cute watching her because she knew she was being funny and was having such a good time entertaining us. Easton at one point said, "momma, sister funny." I loved that he got such a kick out of it. Things are extremely hectic at work for me. Whether its softball or the teaching part, its all stressfull right now and I go nonstop all day long. But its so wonderful to pick up the kids and be able to forget about everything at work and get down on the their level and just enjoy being with them.

My Little Chatter Box

Easton has entered the world of a thousand questions or just talks to talk. He is constantly saying,"mama....." and he'll ask the same question over and over and over. Well yesterday was his first day back at daycare. He had been gone for 5 weeks. He moved up to the next class so he is with his cousin Jacob. I had to work late so I wasn't able to pick him up and then we went to watch the LSU game so we hadn't had a chance to "catch up." Well he made up for it when he was going to sleep last night. He told me all about his day first(I could maybe understand a forth of what he was saying) then he got on this role about Mickey Mouse and he was telling me all about Disneyland. This conversation probably lasted a good 45 minutes. He wanted me to tell him a story about Mickey and his friend Donald, then Mickey and his friend Minnie. Then he told me all about Mickey's house. I can't even remember the half of it but it was precious.
Then this morning he picked up right where he left off. I had to take them to school this morning and the whole way there he was trying everything possible to get me to go back home. He would say, "Mama, Easton go home and drink milk at mommy's house," "Mama, Easton no want to see Ms. Susan, Easton go home and go night night." Then I reminded him that Jacob was going to be there but not for a little while and he said, "Jacob still sleepin, Easton go wake Jacob up." I was a little nervous about dropping him off because when they cry, I cry. But we got there and he wanted to say hi to "mile"( his old teacher, Ms. Camile) so we did then we went in his room and his teacher told me how great he did yesterday then I told him bye and he gave me a kiss and said, "Wuv you."

There will be more pics to come of the game last night. I broke my digital camera so I have gone back to the old school camera which means I have to wait till I finish the roll to get them developed!!!

What Happened To December?

I can't believe December has come and gone. You would think since I was short a child for 12 days I would have had plenty of time, not so much!!! I have lots to update and talk about and tons of pictures but since we have no internet at home it may take a little while to get them all up.

I mentioned earlier that I was short a child. My mom came to visit on Dec 1st. It was a last minute trip but I so glad she got to make it. Scott's mom and sisters have a little tradition of going to Canton, TX (http://www.cantontradedays.com/) the first week in Dec to do a little shopping. That place is crazy and definitely cannot be covered in 1 day(like we tried). So I invited my mom to come and it all worked out. Scott was out of town that whole next week so it was great to have her there, then we went to New Orleans that weekend and she flew out, with Easton!!! I had mixed feelings about the whole thing. Easton is such a mama's boy and I had never been away from him for more than 2 days. But I knew he would be well taken care of and grandma and grandpa would be in heaven, and they were. After Easton had been there for 2 or 3 days I was talking to my mom and she said kinda out of the blue, "Thank you for letting him come." That made it all worth it!!! Everybody here thought I was crazy and said thats too long but we went through with it and it turned out great. The first week he was there he didn't even want to talk to me(and I cried every night=)). He had too much other stuff going on. Finally after 8 days he asked where we were. I don't have any pictures of him out there without us yet, hopefully I will get some soon. Grandma and Aunt Kara took him to Disneyland. He loves The Mickey Mouse CLubhouse show so he knows all the characters. He told me me gave Mickey five and Minnie but Capin Hook scared him. Other than that they took him to see the snow at the mall, he hung out with aunts and uncles, went to the park, went to Bethlehem(at Rocky Peak Church...and loved it). He kept talking about the animals and if you asked him what the angels do he says, "Ahh,la-la-la-la." He got to hang out a bunch with my cousin Cara too which was neat. She kept him while grandma worked.
None of us knew what to expect when we got out there. Was he going to be mad at me? Mad at my mom? Would he let me leave his side? He was extremely excited to see us. The first thing he asked though was, "Where's Braden?" Unfortunately Braden didn't get to come with us this time. He was so sweet to Isabelle and they just played like little puppies. Scott and I joked that we had sent him to Grandma and Grandpa Boot camp. He learned to say sorry and now he says it all the time(except when we tell him to say it).
Probably the hardest part of living away from home is the fact that my kids are growing up without my family, so the fact that Easton got to spend a whole month with my mom and 3 weeks with the rest of the family meant so much!!
Here are some pics of when my mom was here:
These first couple were at a place in New Orleans called City Park. They had all kinds of lights, rides, carolers, train village and a little playground. On the way out we caught the reading of The Cajun Night Before Christmas. It was very cute with lights to go along with the story.
The next few are at the Aquarium in New Orleans. I had never been before and was pretty impressed. The kids really enjoyed it!!!
