What Happened To December?

I can't believe December has come and gone. You would think since I was short a child for 12 days I would have had plenty of time, not so much!!! I have lots to update and talk about and tons of pictures but since we have no internet at home it may take a little while to get them all up.

I mentioned earlier that I was short a child. My mom came to visit on Dec 1st. It was a last minute trip but I so glad she got to make it. Scott's mom and sisters have a little tradition of going to Canton, TX (http://www.cantontradedays.com/) the first week in Dec to do a little shopping. That place is crazy and definitely cannot be covered in 1 day(like we tried). So I invited my mom to come and it all worked out. Scott was out of town that whole next week so it was great to have her there, then we went to New Orleans that weekend and she flew out, with Easton!!! I had mixed feelings about the whole thing. Easton is such a mama's boy and I had never been away from him for more than 2 days. But I knew he would be well taken care of and grandma and grandpa would be in heaven, and they were. After Easton had been there for 2 or 3 days I was talking to my mom and she said kinda out of the blue, "Thank you for letting him come." That made it all worth it!!! Everybody here thought I was crazy and said thats too long but we went through with it and it turned out great. The first week he was there he didn't even want to talk to me(and I cried every night=)). He had too much other stuff going on. Finally after 8 days he asked where we were. I don't have any pictures of him out there without us yet, hopefully I will get some soon. Grandma and Aunt Kara took him to Disneyland. He loves The Mickey Mouse CLubhouse show so he knows all the characters. He told me me gave Mickey five and Minnie but Capin Hook scared him. Other than that they took him to see the snow at the mall, he hung out with aunts and uncles, went to the park, went to Bethlehem(at Rocky Peak Church...and loved it). He kept talking about the animals and if you asked him what the angels do he says, "Ahh,la-la-la-la." He got to hang out a bunch with my cousin Cara too which was neat. She kept him while grandma worked.
None of us knew what to expect when we got out there. Was he going to be mad at me? Mad at my mom? Would he let me leave his side? He was extremely excited to see us. The first thing he asked though was, "Where's Braden?" Unfortunately Braden didn't get to come with us this time. He was so sweet to Isabelle and they just played like little puppies. Scott and I joked that we had sent him to Grandma and Grandpa Boot camp. He learned to say sorry and now he says it all the time(except when we tell him to say it).
Probably the hardest part of living away from home is the fact that my kids are growing up without my family, so the fact that Easton got to spend a whole month with my mom and 3 weeks with the rest of the family meant so much!!
Here are some pics of when my mom was here:
These first couple were at a place in New Orleans called City Park. They had all kinds of lights, rides, carolers, train village and a little playground. On the way out we caught the reading of The Cajun Night Before Christmas. It was very cute with lights to go along with the story.
The next few are at the Aquarium in New Orleans. I had never been before and was pretty impressed. The kids really enjoyed it!!!

This was in front of a HUGE tank. You can see the shark in the background.

Petting the eels.
