I have been working on this blog for a couple weeks and have been wanting to share these stories but I thought I would wait since my moms birthday was coming up. Happy Birthday Mom!!! I wish we could be there with you. Drink a few sips a shnapps for me. =)Easton and Isabelle had what I would call some major quality time with gama(as Easton says) a couple weeks ago. Me, Easton and Isabelle went to CA on June 28 and stayed for a week. It was a good time!!! Isabelle got to meet her uncles and aunt(and a bunch more family & friends) for the first time and we pretty much just hung out with the family. My friend Ashley that I coach with made the trip out there with me(since I couldn't fly with the kids by myself). I say all this to explain how my mom got here. She flew back with me to help with the kids and stayed for a week. I had school so my mom was home with the kids all week. Even though Easton doesn't see my mom all the time I am convinced he knows who she is because from the moment we got to CA all I heard was "where gama?" And then after spending the week with her here he was hooked. My mom just has so much patience it truly amazes me. She will get down on his level and play with him all day long. As we all know, as sweet as Easton is, he is a little challenging at times as well. But Gama always knows the trick to settle him down or make him act right. So they spent the week playing choo-choo, reading books, playing with the animals(ty-ron-a-saur-us...rex), his garage, george, row-row-row your boat, ball, blocks and a little barney. Easton was in heaven(I think grandma was too). He would go up to her and say, "Wanna pay(play)" or "Come on, come pay." It was so cute!!! Scott and I talked after and Easton really learned so much while she was here. His vocabulary really increasd. Since she's been gone Easton asks for her all the time. He'll say, "where gama?" I say, "she went bye-bye." Then he'll say, "gama bye-bye airpane." I think he tries to make sense of the whole thing but then the next day he'll ask the same question. The other day Easton got on the phone with her. When I asked if he wanted to talk to grandma his eyes lit up. So he gets on the phone is walks around to all his toys telling her what they are, then he say "where shelby?" then he said "where gama papa." When we were in CA he kepy calling my dad gama too. We would correct him and say "grandPA." Then we started saying "papa T." I guess he put the two together. Thank you mom for being such a positive role model to my kids. You are truly one of a kind and we love you so much. Here are a few pictures:
